Shropshire Sheep are the oldest registered breed of pedigree sheep in the UK, but far from being old fashioned and outdated, their strengths make them ideal for modern sustainable farming.

They are a fantastic tri-purpose breed – they are bred for their meat, wool and ‘tree-friendly’ nature. The breed is used widely to control grass and herbage in conifer plantations, orchards and other deciduous trees.

Shropshire sheep help maximise productivity by allowing the harvest of ‘two crops from one acre’, while reducing the environmental impact by minimising the use of pesticides and herbicides.
